Building Automation Gateway
Time to Read: 0m 46s
A building automation gateway is a systems control hardware platform that can be used to regulate multiple systems within a building or numerous buildings from a single operator interface. They allow instruments, equipment, machines, and other devices that utilize non-compatible data protocols to operate on the same communications language for easier, more efficient building systems management. Building automation gateways simplify building operation by eliminating the need for either: A) using HVAC, lighting, fire suppression, and others devices and systems all made by the same manufacturer and, therefore, running on the same operations language(s); or, B) multiple, independent controllers for each different manufacturer, control language, device, etc. Some building automation gateways can operate up to 10,000 different devices or more via Ethernet, serial ports, and various other input port options.
