Incubators are laboratory devices used to grow and maintain cell cultures or microbiological cultures. Incubators maintain a number of conditions within their work chambers, such as temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide and oxygen content, and more. They are used in a number of laboratory and experimental applications, including cellular biology, microbiology, and molecular biology, and can also be used in the poultry industry to effectively hatch eggs. Incubators can vary greatly in terms of complexity, but nearly all modern incubators use automated controls to maintain their temperature, humidity, and other internal conditions.
